International Visitors Leadership Programme (IVLP)

Back

The International Visitor Leadership Programme (IVLP) is the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange initiative, designed to enhance international cooperation by fostering meaningful connections between current and emerging foreign leaders and their American counterparts. Euro Atlantic Diplomacy Society aligns with the mission and values of the programme and had a representative who participated in the “Regional Cooperation on Disaster and Emergency Management” programme, which spanned four U.S. states: Washington D.C., Oregon, California, and Texas.

During this programme, delegates visited key institutions such as the U.S. Department of Defence, USAID, FEMA, Hatfield Marine Science Center and NASA’s Johnson Space Center. Engaging in discussions with experts from these organisations, participants explored topics related to crisis management, disaster risk reduction and making cities resilient. This immersive experience provided crucial knowledge on improving disaster preparedness and response, enabling participants to gain invaluable insights, broaden their networks, and contribute to strengthening global engagement.
