Euro Atlantic Diplomacy Society and Dorcas Aid Romania have been partners during the “Blue Bucket Campaign” in order to remind to those who are living in poverty that they are not forgotten. Just before Christmas, 1 500 of blue buckets, full of non-perishable food, arrived in the poorest houses from Romania.
Moreover, working in close cooperation with various stakeholders is paramount in order to facilitate the development of poor communities, to support and help them during emergency situations (disasters); to raise awareness on human rights by advising local authorities and help them create strategies for community development in the poor areas of our country.
Euro Atlantic Diplomacy Society and Dorcas Aid Romania have launched a common project entitled “Christmas Ray of Hope” a charity event meant to bring a bit of hope and happiness among those that really need our help and with less chances to integrate in the society. The project tried to encourage and support children’s education, but also to help the poor families by distributing goods.
Euro Atlantic Diplomacy Society implemented the project “UN-EU-Africa: Education, Development and Culture” in 2016, in close cooperation with the United Nations Office and the European Union Delegation in Libreville. The main goal of the project was to support the intercultural and trans-continental exchanges, as well as youth opportunities, through a series of workshops and seminars. Moreover, the project attempted to promote community building as a way to collectively respond to the commitments outlined by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Some members of Euro Atlantic Diplomacy Society have acquired hands-on experience in field projects while working for the EU Delegation to Gabon, Sao Tome and Principe, Equatorial Guinea and ECCAS.
“On Mange Local” (Gabon) was a project based on increasing the number of policy initiatives for poverty reduction and country’s sustainable development through agriculture and food security. By setting specific goals, the project was focused on (i) increasing local food production to ensure better availability of low cost food products; (ii) improving household food security through a better protein-energy relationship; (iii) reducing rural poverty through increased agricultural income of the local actors involved and creating new employment opportunities in the agri-food sector.
“Sociedade civil pelo Desenvolvimento – Comunicação, Capacitação e Advocacia” (Sao Tome and Principe) was a project focused on monitoring policies for transparency and good governance while strengthening the CSOs skills. Hence, the main goal of the project was to reinforce advocacy skills and capabilities of public policy management that can allow an active participation in political and social dialogue.
